Croydon Hills Community Care provides support to Karen people and their families whether they are newly arrived or have resided in Australia for several years. This includes assistance with settlement related information, advice, advocacy, employment support and assistance to relevant services. We aim to integrate them into our community and to make them feel welcome by providing support and care.
A weekly social program is offered to senior Karen people held at Yarrunga Community Centre. Transport, lunch and activities are provided. A Karen worker assists with language translation if required.

We are committed to supporting second generation Karen to develop a healthy identity as an Australian Karen. This includes an understanding of what it means to be an Australian and contribute to Australian life and society, whilst also understanding their Karen cultural heritage and identity.
Many second generation people have a feeling of being stuck between two worlds. That of their parents at home versus that of the world they are in at school or work. In responding to these particular needs we have experienced Karen Youth Workers from within the Karen community who understand the struggles of the younger people and support them through these challenges.
We partner with other community organisations such as foundation house, eastern community legal services, Yarranga Community Centre, and Educational Facilities in providing support and care.
